I really need this piece of a story I am writing proofread please!?

(There was no one.) - Not a sentence. Christmas hasn't been around since the beginning of time. When I was born in the 3rd century AD, Christmas wasn't celebrated like it is today. In my youth, I became a tireless crusader in Europe on behalf of poor children in my village. In this time the poor kids in my village would leave their shoes outside during the overnight hours. I started anonymously leaving money in the shoes for the children and their families. The Great Ak and the council of the immortals up north began to notice what I was doing. They created a time for me where I would leave toys and candy for all of the children of the world on one night of the year. This night became Christmas Eve. Mrs. Claus and I were given immortality and the rest is history. However, I didn't start giving presents to only to the good boys and girls until the 18th century. This ended when an upset girl wrote me a letter about her mean brother.
