Picking Lips Caused Scar On My Lip?

My lips were very rough in childhood and I didn't put on chap stick often, I picked the rough spots to make it smoother, and a few years of doing that and I can see this scar on my lip? They are smooth now as I've put lots of chap stick this month, and I can see a scar on my upper lip, will it go away if I keep putting chap stick? Or is it there forever? My lip is smooth, it's all smooth, it just got darker in one area that I picked the most. Will the colour go back to my regular colour?
